Judgment Day: the very name makes people reluctant to think about it, but the Bible promises that the day is coming when everyone will be held accountable for what they have done, believer and unbeliever alike. The Bible has much to say about the subject, but a lot of the content is rather vague about some things, such as timing.
But in the end, the timing does not matter as much as your preparedness for it. Will you be ready to give an account of your life?

Another good, hard-hitting, thought provoking episode. And Pachua does have a point. When things happen is not as important as the fact that it will happen, and what will happen at the end, and which side would we be on. But while we should be prepared for it, we do not need to act like it will happen tomorrow. Once we know that we have made Christ our Savior, we just need to let others know about him and what he can do for them. But we don’t need to act as “Armageddonists” or survivalists.
Yeah, for sure. Someone (maybe even Levi?) had told me of a cult/church that taught it’s congregation to get foodstuffs and prepare for the tribulation period. Now, I have nothing against preparedness in general (can you live off what’s on hand for a month, or without a job for three months?), but for a Church there are more important things they should be doing than preparing for the apocalypse.
On another note, we really enjoy hearing your comments, you have no idea how encouraging comments are to us 🙂
“Be ready” means “fulfill the great commission,” not “stash away five years’ worth of food and become a hermit.” There’s value as well in making physical preparation for times of trouble, but that should not be our primary purpose.
If it is, then there are problems to be addressed.
Besides, we have no idea when the end is going to be, so how can we truly “prepare”? The food might go bad before then, something may happen before it goes and all our preparations go out the window. The Titanic was “prepared”, looked what happened to it. Would any of our physical preparations really be adequate for what may happen, considering this would be something worldwide, with stuff happening to the sun and the seas and the moon? We just need to make sure that we are spiritually, as well as physically prepared.
And thanks, it’s a pleasure to listen to this program. 🙂
