A nice spisode. Also very thought-provoking. There are so many sayings that go along with this program: “Be silent and the world thinks you a fool. Speak, and they know you as one.”, “Man was created with two ears and one mouth. That is so we can listen twice as much as we speak.”
I am the quiet type myself, given to listening more than speaking. I give advice only when I feel it’s necessary or asked for. Otherwise, I can listen to someone for hours without interrupting. I try to listen to the words and the tone to get what the person is saying. Too often, people are needing to say something, but no one seems to be willing to listen. I figure that I can fill that job. It doesn’t matter that I may not care for the subject, it’s not for my benefit, but for the other person’s. I try not to be judgemental, but to take everything as it comes, try to be in the other person’s shoes and go from there. I have cried when my friends were in pain, laughed and smiled when they were happy.
