Hey there gang. Just caught your Fangcon review performance. I must say I think you need to catch up on a few things. For example what a PG rating is. From Wiki: PG Rating
A PG-rated film may not be suitable for children. The MPAA says a PG-rated should be checked out by parents before allowing younger children to see the movie. There could be some profanity, some violence, or brief nudity, however there will not be any drug use in a PG film.
I would note there was no nudity of any sort at the con. So the con pretty much kept in line with this. From what I hear you are looking more for a “G” rated con. I only know of one con that attempted that and they gave up on it due to the slowly drying up of attendance.
There were several fursuiting related events which were not mentioned. I would recommend taking part of those in the future. Perhaps you might be better to withstand “snarling” body builders. 🙂 The programming was smaller than what I normally work in the schedule this was due to the hotel changing what was being offered to the con. The last thing I would want to do is have to cancel someone’s event due to a lack of space. You can expect to see more next year. I was surprised by many of the comments I heard. We did place anonymous comment boxes around the con which we did receive a number of replies. I did catch you would like to see more artist related panels. I would ask though what sort of art related panels would you like to see?
Oh I would also offer your gang a chance to perform your show at Fangcon next year if you would like to do so.
Also for the hotel. If you had any issues with your hotel stay we do need to know. Did you have a hard time getting a room with the Fangcon rate? Did you have to pay for internet? (It was a free amenity for our attendees) Any problems we need to know.
Just curious what did you not like about FWA? It was mentioned in the show but not detailed on what was the issue there.
Well I hope this clears up some misconceptions of the con. Oh also we had an open forum at the end of the con and open mic. I do no recall any of this being raised then either. Change cannot happen if you keep it to yourself. I only heard about this through an attendee.
Thanks for attending and I hope to see you at a future event if not Fangcon else where.

Thank you for your comment.
There is more to a PG rating than nudity. Language, violence, and other content are considered when assigning a rating to any movie, show, game, or event, and it was these other things that led me to doubt the accuracy of a claimed “PG” rating. For example, while rare uses of occasional mild profanity are allowed in a PG setting, repeated uses will automatically disqualify that rating, especially use of obscene sexual slurs, which were uttered at least once during an event. Furthermore, if the “fox jokes” I heard outside opening ceremonies were anything like what was uttered in opening ceremonies, then the “family friendly” descriptor is lost. It was a similar situation to this that made me dislike FWA when I went three years ago.
I would love to find and endorse a G-rated con, and it upsets me that there does not seem to be much support for this in the fandom.
The reason why you did not hear any of this at the open forum and open mic (at least from me) is because I had to leave rather early, well before that time. I had wanted to participate in that but could not due to time constraints. I had to be on a flight from Greenville to Mexico City the next morning. (I had also been invited to some of the other meetings, which I wanted to attend but they conflicted with a prior commitment with church.)
No, we did not have trouble with the hotel. I booked a room more than a month in advance of the con, so it was straightforward. Regarding internet, I did not try to access internet in the room and can’t report one way or the other. My problems with the hotel were more general in nature, and a perception of dishonesty on their part that I never personally experienced.
Regarding the offer, I appreciate it but am not sure at this time if that would work out. It depends on how many from our group could attend, and since we are rather spread out, it is difficult to get us together offline. We will have to see what is logistically possible for us.
