Must Christians be wimps, or can they defend themselves? Today we discuss this teaching: “When a man hits your cheek, turn to him the other also.”
Very interesting topic today, you don’t want to miss it.

My family makes ice cream when it’s bellow zero.
Same, here ice cream is made from November to March. Ice cream is bought the rest of the year 🙂
After recently witnessing a debate, I think the turn the other cheek doctrine applies to debating. I see people who start name calling and other insults. I think this is one of the cases where turning the other cheek is a good idea. If someone does they eye for an eye thing and retorts by name calling, it’s just going to make the situation worse. By refusing to stoop to that level, it can keep things from escalating, or at least if things do get worse, you didn’t try to make it worse.
In this culture I could agree in part, but there were others (such as the New Testament period) where namecalling and insults were part of debating. The first person to lose their temper lost the debate, basically. I don’t think that would be understood here.
