How did you choose your fursona’s name? Is there a special connection you have with the name, or did you pull it from the phone book or a name generator? We’d love to know.

Hello, all Wagztail furiends.
I know I’ve already mentioned about my name long ago, but I thought I would re-visit that.
Wanted Irish names (to go with my fursona), wanted something to do with Murphy’s Law. Realize that I could break the phrase differently and come up with Murphy Slaugh (both legitimate Irish surnames). Both of them have noble backgrounds, but ironically, when put together, sounds like the phrase with a bad connotation…which matched my fursona perfectly.
I would be willing to change my first name to Murphy as it wouldn’t be to big of a stretch, though there aren’t many people out there with the first name of Murphy. Would almost be willing to change my middle name to my fursona’s as well as neither first nor middle real names have any special significance (wasn’t named after any relatives).
If I had any children, I might name my boy Martin (sort of a hidden homage to my fursona without going overboard). As for a girl, well, hard to say as that would be dependent on my wife.
Kieth-Wolfe (my online name) is one of my fursona’s first alias’s (not my real name) in my story, he uses it every now and then (often when trying to produce a standout name), and i like it quite a bit. Wolfe hints slightly at my last name as well.
and Cobalt (my fursona’s official name) is his government’s official ‘tag name’ (named for his hard, resistant character, like that of a cutting blade, and his abilities achieved through stubborness.) that and it sounded cooler than Yttrium xD (and to help you understand why he’s all aliases and such, he’s an escaped government project hunted for experimentation, wanted preferably alive. http://kieth-wolfe.deviantart.com/gallery/42079419)
I wouldn’t go as either name legally, mainly because i’m named after my Grandpa (great grandpa for my middle name), both of whom left a bit of local legends behind them, so i’ll keep them out of respect. 🙂
and as for my children, i’ve already chosen Alexei for my first son, then Kita and Electra for my daughters (if the missus would allow it) as they are unique and go quite well with my real last name 🙂
and thanks for the shoutout! xD it made me laugh
I don’t remember how I chose Yurei. I know I gave him dark aura powers and I guess I wanted an interesting name so I came up with Yurei (Japanese for ghost).
