Tomorrow is Good Friday. This is the day Christians remember the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and anticipate the celebration of His resurrection on the first day of the week, the day called Easter. So if that’s the reason we celebrate, how do the eggs and rabbits fit in?

I am commenting with several different topics discussed in this podcast.
In my town of Spokane, WA. There are several churches who actually do a Halloween event called “Trunk ‘n’ Treat” where kids go around to different themed cars, and they have to say a (pre-decided for that specific car) scripture verse without looking at the sign that has the verse on it. After they do that, they get candy.
Related to Nimrod: Levi might get this reference… He was one of the badguy’s in a Bryan Davis series called “Oracles of Fire”
My church, instead of saying “He is risen!” “He is risen indeed!” we say “He is risen!” “You got that right!”
Welcome Obanoth! Glad to hear you listened to one, and this was probably a good “first one” (was it your first?). Hope we kept your interest long enough for you to return.
My church does Trunk ‘n’ Treat or Trunk or Treat as well, as do several other churches in the area – and perhaps several in the Southeast, but I can’t be certain about that. How it works varies from church to church, but I like the Bible verse idea. I may have to steal that one for this year, if I participate again.
Nimrod’s not really much of a villain in OoF, in my opinion. He’s more of a nuisance. I can’t help but wonder if you’re thinking of Mardon. He’s the persistent villain.
I wonder what would happen if you tried that modification of the traditional greeting here.
I thought that it was unique to Spokane xP Glad to hear other city’s do it as well!
I believe you are right… Its been a while since I read that series, that I probabloy got them confused.
Also, there is a story behind the variation traditional Resuarection Sunday greeting. Long story made short, about 5 years ago, a new believer didn’t know the traditional greeting, so when our pastor said “He is risen!” this guy yells out at the top of his lungs, ‘YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!”
