You have a very good point. There should be a middle ground. While oinline interaction can help with real life interaction, too many times online interaction could be addictive and prevent someone from finding someone outside. But it has helped me. It’s given me an online family (“mate”, children, siblings, grandchildren, etc), that that makes up for me not having much of a real-life family (not married, no kids).
By the way, as for Colonel Wilhelm Klink: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hogan's_Heroes#Colonel_Klink
I have a good balance of both online and offline. I have online friends from all over and then I have my friends at school.
i think i’ve been online a bit too much this past year, so most of the friends i have are online 😛 i still have a number of ‘people i kinda know’ in the physical world, and i don’t hang out enough. but recently, i’ve been offline a lot, since i am working on my car, trying to get rid of the moss-like junk that’s ruining the paint right now :/ so yeah, i can’t seem to find middle ground 🙁
Something I’ve found, personally, is that internet communities are a great place to interact with non-Christians. I’ve been at a Christian school for a few years, and in such a sheltered community, it is easy to forget that God calls his people to be lights in the world. Being around non-Christians helps to keep me on my toes, ready to defend the Gospel and point people towards Christ.
