I have had a Cocker Spaniel/Pekingese mix called Buddy (who ran away and was never found), a lab named Sabrina (who was very yappy, and not only was part mole (as she dug LOTS of holes), but also loved chewing on everything, including AC cables (who we had to give away because of her digging). I’ve had a German Shepherd named Hobo (who we had to give away as he did NOT like our African-American mailman), and last dog was a pure-breed Maltese named Krystal (Crissie) (had to be put down due to medical problems). We’ve also had a cat name Callie (calico) who died of old age, and currently my parents have a black cat named Cuddles, and I have a diluted Tortie (tortiseshell) named Miss. Daisy.
i had two cats: Stash and Blackie. Stash was an older and very tolerable cat while i was growing up. she died of old age when i was about 8, i think. she got her name when my parents lived in a hotel that didn’t allow pets and named her ‘Stash’ because of their constant stashing her away in closets and luggage to avoid her being seen. ‘Blackie’ was a mostly black stray cat that hung around my house a while- she loved playing outside, but would never come inside. they two cats never had a real problem- Stash wasn’t very interested in the young cat, although i think Blackie was scared of being in ‘her territory’, despite her being an indoor cat. Blackie ran off a few weeks before stash died and we haven’t had a four-legged pet since.
on top of that, i had two goldfish that i dumped in a lake when they got too big for my tiny tank. i helped others care for their animals: dogs, birds, snakes, and ferrets mostly. had a little frog once, too, but only for a day or two.
