I have to agree with what everyone has said. Animals should be treated as more than just “animals”, like furniture or something. But, they shouldn’t be given EQUAL or SUPERIOR rights to us (as PETA seems to sometimes believe). Animals, like pets, should be treated like family, given good homes, cared for, fed given love etc. But, I don’t think that people homes should be in jeopardy because they’re being built on “the land of the yellow-bellied sloth” or some other insect or animal’s home. We need to realize that when we build houses, that a lot of times it’s on land that WAS an animal’s home at one time. We just need to pick a reasonable medium.
